I remember...
...the last time the Celtics won the NBA Championship. I was 12 years old and missed the game clinching Game 6 victory over the Houston Rockets. I know it is hard to believe, but back then the NBA was pretty foolish and played their Finals games on weekend afternoons! This game took place on a Sunday and I was in Nashua, New Hampshire taking in a minor league baseball game (Pirates affiliate) on a Little League field trip. At the time, I had only been to Fenway a couple of times so seeing "future pros" at the Double A level was a big deal. And getting Bip Robert's autograph was one of the coolest experiences of my life to date. Anyway, I had set up my old VHS to record the game. I knew if I could avoid people checking the score on their cell phones and blackberries, I could watch the game when I got home not knowing the end result. Well, I got home and their was technical difficulties with the taping. I don't remember if I recorded the wrong channel or set it up to tape AM rather than PM. But it didn't tape. I was very disappointed and had to settle for watching Bob Lobel's highlights later that night. Not a big deal, I knew that when they went for Banner #17, I wouldn't miss the clincher. Little did I know that time would be 22 painful years later.
Let's get it done tonight. LET'S GO CELTICS!
Did they really have cell phones and blackberries when you were 12?

Didn't they relay scores via smoke signals and pony express when you were 12?
