Save the World...
Okay, so maybe getting rid of clutter isn't exactly saving the world but with certain things, finding a better home for them is a much safer alternative then throwing them in a landfill.
A month or so ago, I found out about FREECYCLE through my town's "unofficial (?)" blog. I signed up and just kind of lurked for the first month, then this morning decided to post a couple of items that have done nothing but take up space in our basement since we moved into our house last year. An old 19" television that I won in college (and logged many hours of Sega and Nintendo on) and the top of some Ikea hutch type thingy that we used to use in our apartment but never had the right location in our new house for. By mid-day I had 3 takers for the TV and just dropped it off to a nice guy that needed a TV for the V-Smile Gaming System he bought his kids for Christmas and the Hutch thingy will be gone after work today for a lady that will use it in her basement art studio. Pretty cool.
So in about 6 hours, I have de-cluttered our basement a bit and helped out two people in need. Now I am afraid I will become addicted and start giving away too much just to free up space! Anyway, check it out if you are looking for a good deal or want to get rid of some of your own clutter!
I've heard of Freecycle, but never checked it out. Sounds great though.

Someones trash is another persons treasure. I hope your good deed will come back to you and yours tenfold!
Speaking of "saving the world" and/or "taking up free space"; I have entered the blog-world and it is called 2muchpoliticalpower.com.
So please come over and check-it-out! Spread the word, too.

Yeah my sister in law uses this all the time- somehow she barters one thing for another, or she builds up relationships with people- not sure. But I know she has gotten 3 almost new American girl dolls from them for her daughter for free in exchange for other things.
