Sox in Japan

I'm going on record as saying I don't like when MLB makes their teams play in Japan.  Well, I am sure Lucchino had something to do with this so it's not exactly like Selig is forcing them to play over there.  I just remember a lot of Yankees talking about how their trip in 05(?) had them out of sorts for a good week or so.

It is a nice touch for the Sox to be on display there too since two of their pitchers call Japan home.  However, I read somewhere that Dice K's wife is expecting a baby in early April.   The delivery will take place in Boston so there is a chance Dice K won't even make the trip!  Wow, that will piss off Mr. Selig.

I'm buying my kids Pedroia shirts!!

Some great stories coming out since Pedroia was named Rookie of the Year earlier this week.

Not only did he play the final 2 months of the season with a broken bone in his hand, but here is a text message he sent his college coach at Arizona State back in April when he was in a huge slump:

Book it

i am going to hit 300 even after the horrible start i'm having right now

you taught me how to deal with this

Watch out American League East!!!

110907crawford Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays, and Orioles be warned...the team in Tampa has a new image!  We'll see if the name change and new uniforms can propel them out of the AL East Basement!

I like the traditional looking unis, and can only hope they go with standard home whites and road grays and eliminate the sleeveless, tight shirt underneath look!

Hmm...now we can't refer to them as the Devil Dogs though huh?

Why didn't I think of that?

GOOGLE = GENIUS!

I used to hate giving directions during my days of pumping gas in the Burg.

Not good times at THE U

I never thought things could get so bad for the University of Miami football team.  I guess it all started when they accepted the guy that couldn't beat out Rex Grossman at UF as a transfer to take over when Ken Dorsey graduated.  It's pretty much been all down hill from there.  And now this...

Look at that RED HAIR!!!

My son Ben has heard this very quote so many times that before he was actually forming words, he would make sounds like "lookit" well before he said "DaDa" or "MaMa".  To this day, the million dollar question people ask when they see Ben's hair is "where does he get the red hair from?"  Well up until now our most common response is to inform the peeps that both of my grandfathers had red hair, my uncle had it, a cousin, and my sister has some strawberry blondish type hair.  However this article sets the record straight and shows that apparently Kristin's Irish side had something to do with it too.  Apparently we are both carriers of the red hair gene (they make it sound like such a bad thing!).

Read the article but it goes on to say that red hair might be extinct by the year 2100.  And the days of blue eyed, blonde haired people are numbered as well.  Damn, the world is in for some boring looking people in the future, Clairol take note!

Note:  Props to Red Sox game 4 clinching hitter Bobby Kielty for being pictured in the article.
